Principle
The client uses a WEB browser to access the CATS server. Its identity and usage rights are checked against the Customer Data Base. The client then specifies the day and city or location to be investigated. A geographic map covering the corresponding region is generated on the fly, and lightning data is extracted from the Lightning Data Base for the region and time period. The result is formatted as a GIF image an HTML page that is send to the user’s browser. A list of flashes is also available. A log of connections is archived for statistical analysis or customer management. A WEB page allows each customer to display his own usage history within a given time period.
