E-mobility

Thermal and cooling simulations for electromobility are our competence focus at QuickerSim. We have helped optimise battery cooling for electric motorcycles, aircraft, buses, forklifts and cars. Also, we have helped design cooling systems that allow for rapid charging. Finally, we have worked on HVAC simulations of electric buses. Combustion & Power

We have experience in modelling combustion in industrial furnaces. It includes modelling coal or biomass combustion on the grate. Also, we have simulated homogeneous combustion of the syngas and investigated whether the syngas particles travel for more than 2 seconds in temperatures exceeding 850 degrees C. Finally, we have also worked on the design of small gas turbines for micro-power applications.

Industrial Ventilation & HVAC

Dust or oil removal, particle transport or cyclone separator simulations are standard examples of cases that we simulate for our customers.

Moreover, HVAC simulations involved:

  • thermal comfort of people in the offices,
  • air cleanness in hospital surgery rooms,
  • humidity distribution in museum halls.

These are the most common applications of HVAC CFD analyses for civil engineering.

Biomedical Flows

We have simulated multiple things for biomedical applications. To name just a few:

  • noise generation in turbulent flows for Swiss manufacturer of hearing devices,
  • blood flow in the bionic pancreas and shear forces during 3-D bioprinting of tissue cells,
  • microscopic natural convection for biological research applications.

Automotive Applications

For Valeo, we have created custom simulation models for thermal shock calculations of engine radiators. We have helped Hendrickson in the US calculate compressed air dynamics in the pneumatic suspension system of trucks and buses. Headlamp and windshield defogging simulations are yet another application to name.

Valves and Cold Flow

Cold flow modelling (simulation of flows that do not include heat transfer modelling) is one of the most standard applications of CFD. It allows for calculating pressure drops. Also, if the flow carries dust or other solid particles, it allows for the prediction of areas of excessive wear.
