Emissions Accountant Software
Emissions Accountant is analytical software designed to analyze and track air emissions for one or more processes against several different metrics. For someone who is routinely involved with tracking air emissions for a fixed calendar period or on a rolling twelve month basis then this software program offers the perfect solution. And if the need is to quantitatively report the air emissions for a single process with respect to HAP control efficiencies or one of several other critical MON and MACT determinations then Emissions Accountant can help with that as well.
Emissions Accountant streamlines the task of emissions tracking because it combines the air emission calculations from Emission Master with factory production records for each process to calculate the cumulative emissions over a specified period of time. Emissions Accountant provides additional resources for tagging compounds using the conventional classifications (HAP, VOC, TVOS, and others) along with a flexible approach to building reports and other resources to specifying how the data is to be reported. If the objective is to track emissions against a permit or other metrics then Emissions Accountant provides a very comprehensive solution.
Emissions Accountant 5 features a familiar directory/subdirectory style of of organization so that records are always at the user's finger tips. A similar approach has been taken to make production records immediately available for a specific process.
User Interface The basic organizational approach for maintaining processes and batch records in the system has been enhanced by the introduction of a new process group concept. A process group is defined as a collection of one or more subgroups and processes. The group – subgroup concept is similar to the standard Microsoft Windows file structure, which features directories, subdirectories, and files.
A process group can be used to represent a collection or process that might be run in the same facility, consider under the same operating permit, or some other attribute.
Production Import Import Batch and Period Production data from Excel, a CSV file, or a simple TXT file. See several illustrations where production data is imported for the different file formats on the Tutorial Page.
Reporting Reports can be created that apply to all production records that are contained in a process group and all subgroups. This is an improvement over earlier versions of Emissions Accountant, which reported on all production records in the system.
Illinois AER Purpose: Generate applicable AER Reports that are required by the Illinois EPA on an annual basis. This implementation includes specific forms for Process, Control Device, Stack, and Storage Tank. Details for the Emissions Accountant implementation of the IL AER are presented on the AER Resource Page.
PTE Analysis PTE Analysis Report A new report is being developed for Emissions Accountant that implements PTE analysis strategies as detailed in the EPA Memo 'Clarification of Methodology for Calculating Potential to Emit (PTE) for Batch Chemical Production Operations,' August 29th, 1996.
The object of the PTE analysis is to identify the scenario of worst case air emissions for a given manufacturing facility based on all possible processes that can be operated in the facility and the quantity of individual compounds that are emitted from each process. The Annual Emission Rate in conjunction with key equipment utilization factors are considered for each process that can be operated in the factory. For example, it two processes require that the same equipment be used then the process having the highest emission level for the compound or compound classification of interest would be selected.
