Bentley Systems - Version PLS-GRID -Enterprise Level PLS Project Manager and Map Viewer
PLS-GRID is the latest software innovation from Power Line Systems, now part of Bentley Systems, specializing in comprehensive digital twin and Building Information Modeling (BIM) solutions for overhead transmission, distribution, and communication lines. PLS-GRID leverages decades of data from PLS-CADD, PLS-CADD/Lite, PLS-POLE, and TOWER, enabling users to access critical infrastructure data such as structure usage, line clearances, and thermal line ratings both on desktops and online. With PLS-GRID, manage all your overhead line data centrally, ensuring seamless data distribution across departments and contractors. The server version is built entirely on Web Services for easy integration, with encrypted data both at rest and in transit. The desktop version provides a graphical interface for interacting with project data and detailed reports, while the web platform offers cross-device support and secure infrastructure access control. Designed for enhanced productivity and standardization, PLS-GRID includes robust project lifecycle management and historical insights, aligning with the evolving digital twin landscape.
PLS-GRID Server is 100% built on Web Services that enable fast, simple, and reliable integration with your systems. PLS-GRID keeps your data under your control on your servers in your datacenter “where it belongs”. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit over the network. Street level maps are provided by default as well as the ability to integrate with your own WMTS imagery server. Enterprise consistency of user customizations is provided so all users on both the desktop and web platforms see the same information.
PLS-GRID Desktop automatically finds and indexes all the PLS projects on your network and shows the PLS-CADD and PLS-CADD/Lite projects on a map that allows for graphical interaction to open not only entire projects but individual structure models for edit and review. Project data and statistics are available quickly by graphically selecting areas of interest for those project reports. Project files tied to structure comments (pictures, easements, drawings, etc.) or the reference manager can be viewed or opened by easily selecting the structure or project. Open KMZ representations of your project quickly in your GIS system or directly in Google Earth.
PLS-GRID Web shows projects on a map, with details about each structure and circuit directly inside a web browser with cross platform multiple device support. PLS-GRID Web provides access to the same reports as PLS-GRID Desktop and KMZ files for 3D visualization of your infrastructure on any computing device including mobile devices and tablets in the field. The latest construction documents are available to field crews on demand including Plan & Profile drawings and Construction Staking reports. Secure access to infrastructure data for other departments, contractors or other parties with complete control over who has access with an Access Control List (ACL).
PLS-GRID Project Manager focuses on improving PLS-CADD productivity, manageability, accountability, standardization and resiliency by integrating Project Management throughout the project lifecycle. Project Manager provides the benefits of a Document Management system that actually understands the contents of PLS-CADD projects and the relationships between the structures, libraries, criteria, standards and other data that are incorporated in a project. In addition, PLS-GRID provides automatic activity reporting, auditing, standards enforcement and a great deal more. PLS-GRID is the latest iteration of the Digital Twin concept PLS projects have enabled for the past three decades. It not only unifies all of your models, but also provides historical insight to how your grid and its Digital Twin changes over time.
