A truly 3D inversion where the mixed discrete/continuous nature of the inverse problem is captured allowing for the prediction of precise facies transitions.

Results: Accurate pre-drill prediction of facies layering and geometry, hydrocarbon contacts and hydrocarbon column. Elastic impedances that are consistent with regional rock physics trends and the investigation of geological uncertainty. Pre-drill prediction of gas column thickness within 4ft of that encountered by the post-inversion well.
