DREN-URBA - Stormwater Drainage Design Software
DREN-URBA is a CAD-integrated software designed for the hydraulic analysis and design of stormwater management systems in urban environments. It allows engineers to efficiently layout drainage networks by modeling various gutter shapes like rectangular, trapezoidal, and triangular cross-sections, as well as incorporating streets with and without curbs. The software automates the placement and sizing of elements such as inlets and conduits needed for capturing and directing stormwater runoff. DREN-URBA provides critical functionalities like the determination of sub-catchment areas, drawing stormwater components directly, and automating tasks like elevation assignments through interpolation. The tool generates intensity-duration-frequency (IDF) curves for selecting design rainfall intensities, and visually outputs results to identify design compliance. Additionally, longitudinal profiles illustrating elevations, pipe types, and flow rates are generated to support documentation needs. Multiple licensing options are available to cater to individual needs.
DREN-URBA is the Software for the Calculation, under Uniform Flow Conditions, of the hydraulic parameters necessary to establish the Location and Characteristics of the Sumps (scuppers) as well as for the design of the Rainwater Collectors in Urban Developments .
You can easily create the surface drainage system for your urban development in minutes, defining channels with different cross sections (rectangular, trapezoidal, triangular) as well as modelling the flow in streets and avenues with and without built-in gutters.
You will be able to locate the drains or storm drains on the program's CAD interface that will allow the collection of rainwater, which will then be directed to the sewer system.
With the information on the flows captured by these drains, and having defined the properties of the Storm Sewer System (Circular Pipes), you can let DREN-URBA carry out the automatic design for you using three criteria.
Built-in CAD interface
Create the components of the rainwater collection and harvesting system: Channels, streets, drains, sub-basins, manholes and collectors by drawing them directly in the drawing area included in the program.
Sub Basins
On the drawing area you will create the polygons that define the sub-basins or tributary areas of the system and choose for each of them between three methods for determining the respective concentration time.
Section Manager
It is possible to perform calculations in the surface system by assigning one of the 5 available sections: Rectangular, Trapezoidal, Triangular, Half Street and Half Street with Ditch.
Various Types of Sinks
You can choose from 13 types of drains for collecting rainwater in the surface system. Just create the one you prefer and insert it in the drawing area. DREN-URBA does the rest.
Storm Sewer Design
The determination of longitudinal slopes, diameters and gradients of the different sections of the storm sewer network can be carried out automatically, by selecting between three possible methods. Your design is just a click away.
Automatic Elevation Assignment
By importing or creating topographic survey point elevations on the drawing area, DREN-URBA will determine, by assignment or interpolation, the elevations of the street and canal surfaces as well as the cover or land elevations of manholes.
Intensity-Duration-Frequency Curves
You will easily create tables with the design rainfall intensity for different return periods and simply select the one you prefer to perform the calculation and design.
Visual Design
You will be able to view the results in channels and collectors with color legends so that you can easily detect the components that do not meet the design criteria. You will also be able to annotate Manholes and Collectors in order to document your project plans in the greatest detail.
Longitudinal profiles
Easily generate the Longitudinal Profiles resulting from your Storm Sewer Network design with DREN-URBA, including annotations with the values of elevations, diameters, type of pipes and flows, among other parameters.
