2012
Our story began quite a while ago now, when an asset manager working on the construction of the London Olympic Park realised there was a real need for assets to be managed more effectively. He was tasked with allocating CCTV to different areas of the park, which was a lengthy and inefficient process.

To make things easier, he created a live map to show the location and status of CCTV cameras. This saved engineers loads of time, allowed managers to make better, more informed decisions and led to huge overall cost savings. This is how Asset Mapping was born in 2012: quite literally as a way of mapping assets.

2014
Beyond the Olympics, the company moved on from being a static asset register to monitoring energy with a large US customer, visualizing their energy usage and helping them to optimize their use.

2016
The company then looked for new ways to grow and saw that their digital twin dashboard was perfect for expanding into IoT. This came in the form of indoor air quality monitoring, occupancy and capacity for… chicken sheds! This smart agriculture solution allowed customers to reduce their costs whilst ensuring bird welfare was not compromised.

2018
The company then further extended its solutions into commercial real estate, overlaying multiple data sets in the platform, starting with about four different sensor integrations.

2019
We were the first company to digitise the built environment in this way, and since then, our digital platform has grown and developed beyond recognition. We’ve extended our solutions, integrated with over 100 data sources, and obviously changed our name to Metrikus. But the fundamentals behind what we do are still the same. It’s all about displaying the information you need in a single place to make your life easier and save you money.

There are so many different ways we can help you, which can make it a little bit complicated to explain what we do. The possibilities are quite literally endless, but whatever the solution is, it all boils down to the following: we install the right sensors to collect the data you need, and display it in your very own customisable dashboard.

As we continue to grow and scale, one thing we can guarantee is that creating better outcomes and lower costs for our customers will always be at the heart of what we do.
