Aerial Lifts in Industrial and Construction Environments Course
Employees learn how to safely operate aerial lifts and work around aerial lifts in this training video. They learn about the various types of aerial lifts, the hazards associated with them, the training required to operate them safely, and how people on the ground can be safe working near them. Lifting mechanisms, bases, controls and platform components of lifts are discussed. This training stresses the importance of using appropriate fall protection when working on aerial lifts, as well as the need to prevent tipping by the proper use of outriggers and adhering to weight limits. Pre-operation safety inspections of the site and lift vehicle are explained, with a focus on hazards presented by high-voltage and other electrical wires. The video details the safe way to transfer from a lift to an adjacent structure, how to safely drive an aerial lift, break it down and return it to its home.
Aerial lifts allow people to reach heights they otherwise could not attain, but there are risks associated with doing so. By providing this training, employees will have an overview of how to work safely with and around aerial lifts. Viewers must test their knowledge after each segment of the video to ensure the basic concepts are understood.
