Tool materials are difficult to weld due to their transformation properties (retained austenite, ferrite, bainite, martensite) - but on the other hand, due to the possibilities and potential of surface treatment even after welding (e.g. hardening, nitriding, CVD, PVD, etc.), special attention must be paid to the selection welding consumables. In the ToolTec training we deal precisely with this application-relevant topics and qualify tool and mold makers to solve technical problems and to handle the valuable resources in tool and mold making responsibly.
