CEN-CENELEC Technical Bodies Seminar
Every two years the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre (CCMC) organizes in Brussels a seminar for Chairpersons and Secretaries of CEN and CENELEC Technical Bodies. These sessions are also open to representatives from National Standards Bodies. They provide a platform where officers share information and exchange ideas.

The programme covers a wide variety of topics: Rules and processes for standards work, the link with EU legislation in the field of standardization, the adaptation of standards to market needs, as well as international cooperation (aiming at greater market harmonization with third countries and regions). Participants also learn about the interaction between the Technical bodies and CCMC, in particular the support offered by the Programme Managers.
In December 2013 particular consideration was given to recent developments. Besides common sessions on general themes, the seminar also proposed 4 specific workshops, allowing the participants to establish a tailor-made programme according to their own interests. Last but not least, informative sessions on the standardization basics and the IT tools used, solely dedicated to the newly appointed officers of CEN and CENELEC Technical Bodies, were clustered around the one-day-seminar.
