ESC Fire Watch Training (Energy Safety Canada)
ESC Fire Watch Training (Energy Safety Canada) Training is required for workers intending to serve as a Fire Watch/Spark Watch. ESC Fire Watch is approximately eight hours in duration and includes an instructor-led presentation, review exercises, class discussion, written knowledge test and practical exam.
Upon successful completion of the training program, you will be knowledgeable and/or demonstrate proficiency in:
- Legislation & standards pertaining to fire hazards
- Fire Watch planning
- Types of Extinguishers, Agents, and Classification
- Types of Fires, Classifications, and Behaviour
- Operation of Fire Extinguishers; and
- Fire Watch Duties and Responsibilities.
Fire watch professionals work in situations where welding, grinding, cutting or similar actions are performed, particularly in a location where more than a minor fire could break out. Fire watchers keep an eye out for smoldering fires.
Upon completion of this program, you will receive a wallet-size Ticket/Certificate, that will show prospective employers that you have the credentials.
