Persons involved in the transport of dangerous goods have to be trained according to the Chapter 1.3 ADR for road transport and according to IMDG-Code Chapter 1.3 for sea transport before taking up their duties. The employees must be trained concercning their respective roles and responsibilities detailed to the rules and guidelines before taking up their duties. Furthermore, the staff must be trained appropriate to the security instructions according to Chapter 1.10 of the ADR. The possible dangers for the carriage of dangerous goods and their loading and unloading, as well as the risks of a possible accident have to be trained.
A detailed description of the communicated training content must be kept by the employer and the employee. To stay abreast to the amended regulations, of course, regular refresher courses are recommended.
