Water Treatment Operator Level 2 - Fall 2020

This course introduces attendees to source water treatment processes. You will learn the uses, characteristics and calculations for various water treatment processes. This is an online instructor-facilitated class. You may structure the course to your own schedule but will be required to complete the course by a specific deadline and will submit homework to the instructor by given due dates.

This course offers a comprehensive discussion of water treatment processes, their uses, characteristics, and calculations. It is designed to teach the skills and knowledge that you will need to know as a Level 2 operator. This course builds upon your learning from the Level 1 course by focusing on analysis and problem–solving for conventional treatment processes, as well as introducing concepts for advanced treatment processes.

This course takes into consideration the Association Board of Certification Need-to-Know Criteria for water treatment operators.

Note: AWWA’s Water Treatment Operator courses are designed to be taken in sequential order. Consider taking Water Treatment Operator Level 1 before this course if you have not already.

Learning Elements: Prerecorded presentations, online learning activities, videos, quizzes, discussion boards, weekly tests, and homework assignments.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 12 hours of online learning activities per week. This is an estimation and will be different for each learner
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
  • High school education
