Oakfield Apparatus hand augers are ideal for breaking up compact, stony, or gravelly soil that is hard to sample in. They can also be used to clear away the top layers of soil if you want to sample deeper in the ground.
Oakfield Apparatus augers are made of high-grade nickel chrome plated steel for extra rust, tarnish and corrosion resistance. Our Heavy Duty Auger is additionally tipped in carbide to make it even stronger in extremely hard or frozen soil.
All soil sampling components are interchangeable so you can easily add parts as needed. For example, there are extension rods to create longer sampling lengths, cases for storage and carrying, and a hex adapter you can use to hook up any of our augers up to a 1/2' chuck drill if you want to add extra power to your sampling.
Our hand augers are fast, portable, and easy to use. They can be used to take samples in the toughest of soils.
