Underwater remotely operated vehicles solutions for science & research industry - University / Academia / Research

SHARE

VideoRay Remotely Operated Vehicles have found several different roles in science and research. Many projects investigating underwater archaeology or marine life and their habitats involve long periods of observation – something ideally suited to VideoRay ROV capabilities. Scientists find that a rugged tool that can be easily transported and deployed from small boats or through long holes in ice allows them to collect data in locations where no other technique would work.

VideoRays have discovered new fish species in Ecuador, been used repeatedly in Antarctica, filmed hundreds of hours of reef activity in the Gulf of Mexico, observed endangered and invasive species and polluted habitats, surveyed the interior of the USS Arizona Historical Site, swam nose to nose with Great White sharks on research expeditions, and in general become the tool of choice for underwater video research.

Its capabilities include collecting water and soil samples with the manipulator arm, monitoring water paramaters with a sonde, measuring and scaling objects with lasers, and determining metal thickness with gauges. Educational possibilities are also endless with remote Internet ROV piloting capabilities and interactive aquarium exhibits at museums around the world.
