Quality and the Environment

Hidroambiente has the Lloyds Register certification for Quality and Environmental Management Systems, according to the requirements of the UNE-EN ISO 9001 and UNE-EN ISO 14001 standards. Seeking to ensure the satisfaction of its clients and minimise their environmental risks, current or potential.

Consequently Hidroambiente`s activities, processes and services follow the guidelines of these standards with the goal of promoting continuous improvement as a leading company in the sector.

Occupational Risk Prevention

Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) are Hidroambiente´s basic pillars. In fact, the prevention of occupational risks is present in all the company`s activities, which helped the company obtain AENOR certification in March 2009.

Hidroambiente is part of Elecnor`s Joint Prevention Service, which specifically works on occupational safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics and applied psycho-sociology. In order to work on prevention activities in relation to occupational medicine, Hidroambiente has entered an agreement for external services with the prevention company Asepeyo.

R&D&I

Throughout its history, Hidroambiente has sustained an R&D&I Plan with new activities every year. It has carried out research in programmes such as INTEK and GAITEK with the Basque Government and ERABERRITU with the Regional Government of Bizkaia in several editions and executed independent research by its own.

The fields of activity focus mainly on improving water treatments for especially difficult spills, formates, ammonia at room temperature, ultra-filtration membranes, toxic spills, etc.

It is currently developing a project with the Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) worth € 1 million in water purification using inert techniques.
