A long time customer of Tecta-PDS, they now have x15 Tecta-B16 instruments installed. The units are used for remote monitoring of groundwater resources around Thailand, compared to previously taking samples from around the country and sending them to the main cities for analysis.

The Groundwater Analysis Division at the Department of Groundwater Resources for Thailand has quite a mandate! However, their main task is analyzing the physical, chemical, toxic, and bacterial quality of water for consumption, industry, and agriculture throughout the country.

Thailand is a vast country with various types of geology. As a result, the underground water drilled in each area has different or unique qualities. Therefore, it’s necessary to analyze the quality of groundwater from EVERY well drilled in EVERY area to ascertain whether it’s suitable for a particular activity or not.

With such a vast and challenging mandate, The Groundwater Analysis Division continually conducts studies of more efficient and effective systems. E.coli and Total Coliforms analysis was being performed in laboratories with a multiple-tube technique, together with the membrane filter technique. These processes were very complex and took at least 3-4 days to get results. The aim was to upgrade their bacterial water quality monitoring system to provide a higher level of service to the people of Thailand.
