Diesel Particulate Filter for Caterpillar Wheel Loader

Description
A soil remediation project in Colorado, USA, by Shaw Environmental, required enclosure of the work area while handling the contaminated soil with a Caterpillar 966G Wheel Loader.

Challenge
The operation of diesel powered heavy equipment for handling of soil within the enclosed area resulted in a high concentration of diesel soot in the air, diesel odor, and reduced productivity due to an overall poor work environment.

Solution
DCL supplied a diesel particulate filter and insullation blanket, resulting in a dramatic reduction in diesel particulates and diesel odor. The work environment improved significantly for workers at the site. The diesel particulate filter was easily installed on the vehicle in the same manner as a muffler.
