The diesel particulate filter (DPF) has been used for many years in the control of diesel particulate matter (DPM)emissions. This technology is characterised by extremely high efficiency and high sensitivity to the application conditions. Research and testing performed by Diesel Controls Ltd. over the past two years has resulted in improved methods for predicting the application based performance of a DPF. The main goal of this research was to increase the accuracy of the technique. This improve

Description
Gardner Denver MK45H rock drill.
Challenge
A universal exhaust purifier was required that could easily be retrofitted into the vehicle exhaust pipe.
Solution
DCL supplied an exhaust purifier with connection cones to match the vehicle exhaust tube diameter. The unit was connected to the exhaust tube with standard muffler u-clamps. Quick-release clamps on the exhaust purifier center body allow removal of the catalyst element for servicin

A soil remediation project in Colorado, USA, by Shaw Environmental, required enclosure of the work area while handling the contaminated soil with a Caterpillar 966G Wheel Loader.
Challenge
The operation of diesel powered heavy equipment for handling of soil within the enclosed area resulted in a high concentration of diesel soot in the air, diesel odor, and reduced productivity due to an overall poor work environment.

Various portable diesel powered gensets, operating in a downtown urban environment (Manhattan, New York City). The gensets are used for powering construction equipment in a subway expansion project.
Challenge
The diesel particulate filters were required to meet local standards for particulate reduction. The units were expected to operate maintenance free despite the low exhaust temperature and duty cycle of the portable gensets.

Natural gas compressor station in northern Alberta, Canada, powered by Waukesha 7042 GSI engines.
Challenge
The challenge was to meet emission targets for NOx, CO and non-methane hydrocarbons, for a variety of compressor engines with different exhaust configurations.
Solution
DCL supplied the catalyst housings in two basic configurations for this project. The first configuration was a separate catalyst housing and muffler. The second c

Eighteen (18) compressors, powered by 7600 hp Wartsila engines. The compressors move oil from the Caspian Sea to the Mediterranean Sea in the Turkish portion of the Baku-Tbilissi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline.
Challenge
Engine-out emissions for this major pipeline project were to meet the World Bank standards. The design target called for an oxidation catalyst to reduce engine-out volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by a minimum of 95%.
