THE PROBLEM:

It is very difficult to confirm odor levels when digging deep. While time and preparation go into design for a particular type of odor, more odors may present themselves during production. Furthermore, it is important to know the surrounding geography. For this project, the deep tunneling was near the La Brea Tar pits, which presented a serious concern because the H2S levels were expected to be very high. Once drilling began, they experienced other unpleasant odors that needed to be removed from the air.

THE SOLUTION:

PureAir provided Spokane with a Packed Bed Systems (PBS) equipped with Sulphasorb XL™ and CPS12 Blend adsorbent media for each system. Sizes ranged from PBS-404 to PBS-808. The odors we designed the project to tackle were hydrogen sulfide VOC`s, mercaptans, and sulfur compounds. The air is now odor free and safe to breathe. The City of Spokane, Washington continues to work with us today.
