Performance Testing Wipe Samples on Sheet Metal with Cutting Oils - Case Study

A manufacturing company uses cutting oils to produce sheet metal to assemble elevators.  The metal must be cleaned after production.  Wipe samples were collected by the client and sent to Sitelab's laboratory for analysis in order to monitor and adjust a new cleaning system installed.

Sitelab's UVF analyzers are very sensitive to lubricating oils and cutting oils used in manufacturing.  Small parts or surface wipes are extracted in solvent for analysis.  If the oil is availabe, it can be used to prepare a standard to calibrate the instrument.
