Plastic Pellet Silo Ultrasonic Level Measurement
ABM’s non-contact ultrasonic level sensors work great on plastic pellets in bulk storage silos.
The sensors provide reliable level data to monitor the inventory in silos that supply pellets for injection molding, helping to eliminate pellet shortages and production downtime.
For this project, ABM’s 45 KHz ultrasonic sensor with swivel aiming mount was selected to monitor a dusty storage silo. The swivel aimer made it simple to point the sensor directly towards the discharge hole.
The self-cleaning operation automatically eliminates build-up from the transducers face for reliable, maintenance free operation. In addition, specifically designed filters eliminate noise influence during filling conditions.
