An inspection cofferdam is typically 2 meters wide and can be built up according the requested inspection depth. This cofferdam fits on the back of a truck and can be transported as such. An inspection of a quay wall in detail will be executed with reference setups (decided in a joint decision between the client and Acotec) where the cofferdam will be placed. This will generally be on the locations where damage can be seen such as holing or even a subsidence of the quay.

After years of experience on a wide variety of quay wall structures, the technology was extended to tubular piles, mostly supporting jetties or offshore structures. The proprietary DZI Limpet Cofferdams are used to individually set dry piles up to 1400mm diameter. When the pile diameter is larger, the pile will be set dry in sections. A cofferdam is provided with different safety features, dewatering equipment, underwater illumination, air separation equipment, liftable grit flooring, an automated electrical cabinet, ladders, adjustable sealings, etc…

Acotec has over 30 years of experience in providing the successful solution for the client’s problem. This means that standard DZI Cofferdams are often modified or customized. These cofferdams have all features of the standard cofferdams but are adjusted according to the structures that needs to be set dry or according to local law and regulation. Additional features can easily be installed by our service engineers.

When protecting a pipeline on the inside the most important limitation is the diameter of the structure. Acotec has technologies available to safely and with the utmost attention to quality protect the inside of a steel or concrete pipe structure. To find the best solution for your problem, we must first make a difference in existing and new structures and a difference in diameter as the limit is 80cm (32 inch).

An external protection of a pipe or pipeline structure is mostly done manually. When the coating is applied on new structures a robotical system may be an option for larger quantities. When the pipeline structure is kept above ground and subject to UV impact, the Humidur epoxy coating may discolor because of this effect. Acotec offers therefore an additional UV topcoat to keep the color for esthetical reason. This additional layer gives no added value in terms of corrosion protection and is solely used to maintain the color of the coated pipeline. This topcoat is available in any RAL-color.
