ActewAGL`s corporate mission statement is to meet the Australian Capital Territory`s needs for energy, water and sewerage services in an economically and ecologically sustainable way. It is an electricity, natural gas, water and sewerage services utility based in the Australian Capital Territory. Outside its home base, ActewAGL sells electricity in the south-east Australian contestable market and provides skilled services elsewhere in Australia and overseas. It was established in October 2000 as the first utility joint venture in Australia between a major private sector group and a government owned enterprise.
