Differential Settlement

AIS - Base Plate Settlement System
The Base Plate Settlement System is utilized in monitoring vertical settlement in the foundations of dams and embankments, particularly in scenarios involving unconsolidated sand, silt, or clay foundations. This system is vital during construction and operational phases as it ensures foundational stability. Its applications extend to embankment foundations, dam foundations, soil consolidation, ground improvement, and similar infrastructure projects. Key advantages include high accuracy, robustness, excellent resolution, and reliable long-term stability. It's also designed to withstand thermal shocks without compromising performance. The apparatus comprises various components: base plates ranging from 300 x 300 x 5mm to 1500 x 1500 x 5mm, extension/raiser rods with diameters of 20mm, 25mm, and 32mm, protective pipes with a 50mm internal diameter and 1.7mm wall thickness able to withstand water pressures of 6Kg/cm² or more, and PVC couplings with 52mm ID and 1.7mm wall thickness.
AIS - Model 701 - Building Settlement Point for Structural Monitoring
The building settlement point, model AIS 701, is constructed from mild steel rod with a 12mm diameter and features a spherical ball on the top. It is available in various diameters and lengths according to specific requirements. These settlement points are integral for monitoring structural settlement and are installed by drilling a small hole into the structure and securing the point with cement or epoxy to ensure it remains firmly attached while allowing for movement detection. Measurements are taken using digital levels or total station devices along with staff for precision. Key specifications include a diameter of 10mm for the threaded part, 12mm for the plain part, and 18mm for the ball. The length is 60mm for both the threaded and plain parts and 18mm for the ball. The material used is mild steel with a nickel coating for durability.
