Soil and Solid Analyses Services

Congress enacted the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). It provides guidance for the management of solid waste, and underground storage tanks that contain fuel or hazardous chemicals. RCRA`s primary goals are to: Protect human health and the environment from the potential hazards of waste disposal. To conserve energy and natural resources. To reduce the amount of waste generated. To ensure that wastes are managed in an environmentally sound manner.

Ground Water & Drinking Water Analyses Services

The Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) was signed into law. It is part of the mandatory national program to protect public health through drinking water safety. The goal of the SDWA is to protect our health by ensuring public water supplies meet national standards. When the SDWA was implemented it: Established a national structure for drinking water protection activities. Authorized EPA to establish national, enforceable health standards for contaminants in drinking water. Provided for public water system compliance through a federal-state partnership. Established public notification to alert customers to water system violations. Set up procedures to protect underground sources of drinking water.

Wastewater Analyses Services

Congress passed legislation to manage the pollution of our nation`s waters. The enacted legislation was given the title of the Water Pollution Control Act. It was revised and amended in 1972, and again in 1977. This Act is now known by its current title, the Clean Water Act (CWA). The CWA is the primary federal law that seeks to protect lakes, rivers, aquifers and coastal areas. Its two main goals are to: Eliminate the discharge of pollutants into the nation`s waters. Achieve water quality levels that are fishable and swimmable.

Project managers are designated to oversee the flow of incoming projects from the moment they are scheduled to the time data is released and reviewed by our clients. Project managers are experienced in scheduling services, responding to technical inquiries and providing price quotes.

Underground Storage Tanks (UST) Services

The California Department of Health Services and California State Water Resources Board teamed up to address public health and environmental issues linked to underground storage tanks containing fuel or hazardous substances. As a result, the agencies developed a series of procedures to determine if unauthorized releases have occurred. Unauthorized releases can cause contamination of soil and pose a threat to ground water, and can also directly affect ground water. Federal rules passed in 1988 required owners and operators to upgrade, close or replace their underground storage tank systems by December 22, 1998.
