Capabilities for particle generation, detection and chemical analyses span the size range from 0.001µm to 10µm.

About us
Since its founding in 1991, Aerosol Dynamics Inc. has worked to improve measurement methods for characterizing fine airborne particles. These particles comprise the visual haze in the atmosphere, and are important to air quality, human health and global climate.
Susanne V. Hering, founder and President, has over thirty years of experience in the field of atmospheric aerosols. Her primary interest is the in-situ, automated characterization of the size and chemical composition of atmospheric particles. Dr. Hering holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Washington, with postdoctoral work in Environmental Engineering at the California Institute of Technology. After many years at UCLA, she left the academic world to form Aerosol Dynamics Inc. She has served as a Board Member and as President of the American Association for Aerosol Research, and in 2007 was honored as the recipient of the BYH Liu Award, presented by the Association in recognition of contributions to aerosol instrumentation.
Nathan M. Kreisberg, Senior Research Scientist, holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Texas, Austin. He has been with the company since 1994. In recent years he has carried the primary responsibility for the development of the Thermal Desorption Gas Chromatograph system for the in-situ measurement of organic compounds in atmospheric aerosols.
Gregory S. Lewis, Senior Research Scientist, holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Texas, Austin, with studies in turbulent flows. After several years in industrial research developing advanced optical disc drives, he joined ADI in 2004, where he has focused on the further development and application of the company’s growth cell technology.
Steven R. Spielman, Senior Research Scientist, holds a PhD in Applied Physics from Stanford University with studies in optical properties of solids. He joined ADI in 2008 after several years in industrial research in semiconductor metrology and optical data storage.
Dr. Arantzazu Eiguren-Fernandez is our Senior Research Chemist. She is involved in the design and development of new, portable aerosol instrumentation for time-resolved chemical speciation of airborne particles. Her research focuses in characterizing the physical-chemical and toxicological properties of ambient aerosols and their adverse health effects.
