Aggeres

Aggeres is an Antwerp-based pioneer in innovative flood solutions. We safeguard cities and ports around the world from the challenges of climate change using smart mobile flood barriers. Whatever your needs, great or small, we meet them with customized engineering, and sustainable products. Throughout history, water management has been a challenge. The Romans tackled it by building ‘walls’ or ‘embankments’, called aggeres. An endeavor we continue today, not with solid walls, but by developing flood solutions and rainwater harvesting tools, based on extensive research and tested in our very own test lab. With every solution we develop, we keep our ecological mission in mind: to battle the challenges of climate change and to contribute to a safer urban environment. Although the technique has been used before, on different locations worldwide, the Spakenburg project will be the first time it is constructed at such a large scale and as part of the primary water barrier.
