The advanced technologies Agristrade applies to its facilities have brought about a revolution in the concept of salt storage. The highly precise weighing equipment combined with advanced computerized management systems and systems for automatic vehicle or operator recognition now enable access for salt discharge by any authorized user.

Built entirely in materials with 100% resistance to the chemical aggression of saline solutions, particularly CaCl², they have proven to be perfectly in tact even after decades of use.

The difficulty in dissolving sodium chloride in water at an ambient temperature in a short space of time motivated technicians at Agristrade to design and construct a special dissolution system for this purpose.  The result is a patented, multi-functional system for the preparation of saline solutions whose high performance enables the preparation of 10,000 litres of saturated solution in just one hour. The system can be used both for small facilities that provide for the manual loading of the salt or for more sophisticated plants with automated dispensing of salt from the storage silos (see page) and the computerized preparation of the liquid mixtures at the desired concentrations.

There are many winter maintenance centres where the use of a salt storage facility would be unfeasible. For these, Agristrade has focused on improving, facilitating and increasing the safety of salt handling operations where the salt is stocked in bags or in heaps. The result are Agristrade conveyors built with materials suitable for contact with salt and installed with operating and safety features deriving from over 30 years’ experience in the handling of chemical deicers for road maintenance.
