One of our most popular specialty conferences, the Air Quality Measurement Methods and Technology Conference provides extensive coverage of all aspects of air measurement methodologies, including associated quality assurance protocols and how to use and interpret data. Sessions will also focus on the assessment of key substances of concern for humans and the environment, including criteria pollutants, greenhouse gases, and air toxics.

This year's program will cover policy updates, regulatory changes, and research on the latest environmental topics. U.S. EPA speakers will present their latest information on environmental rules, policies, and research. Additional speakers from industry, NGOs, agencies and academia will share their expertise and the latest solutions for maintaining compliance and reducing environmental impacts.

This virtual conference will address emerging policies and strategies for tackling climate change impacts, including mitigation, adaptation and resiliency. Other topics of interest are global GHG policies and initiatives; innovative technologies; and solutions for mitigation and adaptation. The conference will emphasize the types of climate commitments made following the 2021 COP26 meeting in Glasgow and the efforts and plans to meet these commitments at all levels, as well as advances in policies since the global 2015 Paris Accord. The event will highlight case studies and action plans to reduce and/or adapt to the impacts of climate change.

As the concern for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) increases, A&WMA has developed this conference to bring together scientists, researchers, academics, practitioners, regulators, and the regulated community to discuss the current state of PFAS science and to help develop solutions for the future. Dubbed “forever chemicals” by the media, PFAS pose unique challenges with their persistence, revolving life-cycle, and distinctive chemical characteristics. Conference sessions will explore PFAS sources and uses, potential alternatives, health effects, and current regulatory approaches and guidance for PFAS in water, soils and biosolids, landfills and leachate, and air, as well as methods for their measurement, treatment, destruction, and disposal.

Based on the best-selling A&WMA NSR Manual, this Workshop will provide attendees with a working knowledge and understanding of New Source Review rules and how to apply them in different situations. This 2-day workshop is ideal for industry, attorneys, state and local permit writers, and consultants. The program has been updated to include the EPA's current position on applicability, emissions accounting, common control and source classification.

In the last five years, wildfires have devastated cities and caused loss of life, lasting health effects, and major property damage for many areas in Western North America. While we may not be able to prevent the disaster, we can build on the recent experience of others directly affected. This conference will bring together public and environmental health providers, emergency responders, experts in community recovery, and disaster cleanup professionals to present the latest tools, concepts, and approaches to help us understand the community effects of wildfire and better prepare for the future.

The connections that link environment, energy and health are as historic and direct as the 446 bridges that crisscross Pittsburgh, the city with more bridges than anywhere else in the country . The 2017 Air & Waste Management Association`s Annual Conference & Exhibition (ACE) will examine how leaders in industry, government, academia, and non-governmental citizen groups work together to improve community health and protect the environment. The Pittsburgh area is a great example of the amazing improvements in environmental quality and health that can occur when these groups are bridged together. Industry in this region has evolved to a diverse portfolio of energy suppliers, manufacturing plants, medical facilities and technology companies that are harnessing energy in sustainable and innovative ways.
