Regenerative thermal oxidizers RTO are specifically designed to destroy the pollutants from the process gas through thermal oxidation at high temperature, the chemical energy contained in the pollutants is transformed in thermic energy to sustain the combustion itself.

Airprotech - VOC Rotor Concentrators

airprotech supplies zeolite-based VOC rotor-concentrators that are typically installed in case of low concentration of pollutants and large gas flow rate. The volatile organic compounds VOC contained in the laden air flow are concentrated by adsorption in a zeolite-based rotor-concentrator. The cleaned air flow is delivered directly to the exhaust stack. The pollutants concentrated in the rotor-concentrator are desorbed and finally treated by a thermal oxidizer with reduced size. The application of rotor-concentrators is very interesting to reduce the overall investment costs compared the installation of a large size RTO designed for the entire air flow rate.

Airprotech - Catalytic Oxidizers

Based on a catalytic oxidation reaction for the treatment of organic substances, the gas cleaning process is carried out with lower temperature using high-performance base-metal and precious-metal catalysts. airprotech designs catalytic oxidizers with different configurations, catalyst material can be installed in form of pellets or honeycomb, in some cases the system is integrated with heat exchanger to regenerate the heat of exhaust gases. Catalytic oxidizers properly sized and accurately designed can guarantee the highest performances for the abatement of volatile organic compounds VOC and CO, thus consequently the lowest emissions to the atmosphere.

BACKDIRECT THERMAL OXIDIZERSDirect thermal oxidizers destroy the pollutants through thermal oxidation at high temperature, process gas and/or waste organic liquids are directly injected in the combustion chamber. airprotech delivers direct thermal oxidizers in both configurations horizontal and vertical, this last one usually integrating the exhaust stack on top. The combustion chamber is finished internally with insulation lining in ceramic fibers to protect the main body from the high temperatures.

Airprotech - Recuperative Thermal Oxidizers

Recuperative thermal oxidizers are composed by a main combustion chamber for thermal oxidation of pollutants at high temperature with an integrated heat exchanger to recover the heat from hot gases generated in the combustion chamber. The efficiency of the heat recovery can reach 65% reducing the amount of energy required to operate the system.  Auxiliary heat exchanger can be installed on the exhaust gas line to provide additional heat to the main production facility for different services.

Wet scrubbers and spray towers are used mainly for the removal of volatile organic and inorganic compounds, using water as abatement media for those pollutants which are water-soluble substances, using additional chemical reagents in case of inorganic compounds to be neutralized.
