Alatas supplies water bags and load cells for both dynamic and static crane load tests. We carry out water bag load testing up to a proof load of 250 ton, and higher on request. The load tests are performed as per Alatas designed load test protocols, tailored to the individual crane models. A certificate is issued upon successful completion. We specialize in load testing of Deck Cranes, Davits, Life Raft & Life Boat Cranes, as well as load testing of Gangways and life boats via water filled man bags. Besides dynamic load testing with water bags, we carry out static pull load testing on Hose Handling Cranes, Provision Cranes and Engine Room Overhead Cranes (ER Cranes). And we also carry out load testing of Motor Grabs and Radio Remote Controlled Grabs on board or on land.

ALATAS provides 5-yearly crane and lifting gear inspections, load testing, supply of water bags, and cargo gear endorsements, all out of one hand. This translates into direct cost savings for owners, who no longer need to engage and pay separate contractors for crane inspection, load test provision etc. ALATAS, as an Enterprise of Competence with flag approved Competent Persons, employs multi-disciplined, factory trained Crane Engineers, highly experienced in all kind of repairs, investigations, troubleshooting of all system faults, be it of electric-, electronic-, hydraulic- or mechanical nature. Our Sr. Engineers & Crane Inspectors are certified to API 2D and have category B-1 competent person approval from the Norwegian Maritime Authority, permitting us to carry out annual and 5 yearly crane & lifting gear inspections & load tests as per ILO 152 on behalf of the Flag States.

Alatas can provide grab repairs, spare parts for SMAG Peiner and ORTS grabs. Grab cables, spreader cable drums, tugger winches and associated parts are available for makes including Hartmann & Koening.
