American Equipment Co.

American Equipment Co. was started in Kansas City, Missouri back in 1927 and built insulated truck bodies. The business expanded in the 1940’s into a full line equipment house, but continued marketing truck and trailer refrigeration units. In the mid-70’s, during the economic slowdown, the company sold the truck equipment part of the business, moved to North Kansas City and concentrated on handling only refuse and recycling equipment. The company operated with four to five employees and had minimal service capacity.
