API’s annual Storage Tank Conference, preceded by a two-day Safe Tank Entry Workshop are educational programs that focus on the latest management practices for aboveground storage tanks Attendees learn the basics of ensuring safe tank entry and maintenance. Topics cover tank decommissioning, isolation, degassing, safe tank entry, cleaning, return to service, and associated work. This hands-on program also provides an understanding of atmospheric monitoring, with instruction in the operation, calibration, and maintenance of field instruments that sample and analyze levels of oxygen, gases, and vapors. Attendees have the chance to calibrate and use the instruments. NFPA will award 0.7 Continuing Education Units for each day of instruction.

The purpose of the two-day Conference is the free and open exchange of experience and opinions on all phases of taxation affecting the oil and gas industry, with primary emphasis on Federal income taxation.We have 5 tee times set for the Ocean Course beginning at 1:10 and going off every 8 minutes. We will set the foursomes. Golf fee with cart is $132.50 with tax.Clubs can be rented for another $70. Those renting clubs need to indicate if they are right or left handed.All charges for golf will be billed to the attendees room (they don’t accept credit cards at the pro shop except for apparel).
A team has been formed to collect industry damage prevention practices into a virtual toolbox. The toolbox and the practices in it will be presented and discussed. Who can contribute to the toolbox? What sorts of practices are in it? How can the toolbox be accessed? There will be discussion of excavation damage incidents and near miss events that resulted from existing exemptions from the use of one-call laws and what strategies have and may be employed to reduce the occurrence of such accidents. Would laws simply eliminating or severely limiting such exemptions be desirable? What are the pros and cons? What additional burdens may be placed on industry to screen and respond to additional one calls if existing exemptions are eliminated? Are there certain exemptions that the pipeline industry wants to retain? What industry practices have been particularly effective?
