The Series UC2 pig is another great example of how Apache provides the pipeline industry with tools that get the job done. Let’s face it, during the contruction phase, it can be a messy business, so it’s important that the pipeline interior be kept clean throughout the process. Apache developed the Series UC just for this purpose. The Series UC is primarily used for light cleaning during the construction phase and can be used in all phases of pipeline cleaning.

The Base Model 57 is a visual flag indicator with manual reset. It is a popular member of Apache’s pigPRO™ Series, a patented line of intrusive pig passage indicators that reliably detect the precise location of a cleaning pig as it travels within the pipeline network. When a cleaning pig passes the system’s intruding plunger, it activates the plunger and triggers a visual flag indicator, signaling the pig’s location.

With thousands of systems sold around the world over the past 15 years, the CD52 pig signaler has developed a strong reputation in the industry for its reliability and durability in even the harshest environments. The CD52 Bandit is a non-intrusive pig signaler which uses either permanent magnets or active transmitters mounted onto the pig to detect passage from 0.022 to 45.73 mph (0.01m/s to 20 m/s). A relay closure on passage allows the Bandit to be interfaced to a wide variety of systems including SCADA, PLC’s, lights, horns, etc.

The Purger™ Series pig is an incredibly tough, all-urethane pipeline pig that requires absolutely no maintenance and is an excellent pig for product evacuation. The Purger I™ is an extremely efficient batching, cleaning and displacement pig. Its multi-disc design ensures that sealing elements are always centered in the pipeline, resulting in consistent wear over time.

Transmitters operate by emitting electromagnetic fields at a very low frequency (between 15 and 30Hz). This makes CDI’s pig tracking transmitters safe and reliable for use in any onshore or offshore environment and any pipeline product (water, oil, gas, ammonia, carbon dioxide, etc.). Several models have the ability to sit dormant until activated by a pre configured pressure through the use of pressure switches.

The CD47-C Above Ground Marker (AGM) time-based benchmarker is designed to record within just a few milliseconds the GPS time of a passing intelligent inspection tool. This precise time coupled with the physical pipeline location is correlated with the data recorded by the inspection tool. This correlated data provides a major increase in the accuracy of a smart pig’s feature location callouts.

The GeoEAR acoustic amplifier system allows a listener to hear extremely faint sounds at great distances using a geophone probe which is either inserted into the soil or placed in direct contact with the pipeline. The GeoEAR has the ability to amplify the sound of an approaching pipeline pig’s cups striking welds of a pipeline to an easily discernable level and under normal circumstances a pig can be heard approaching for miles.
