Industrial Systems
Electrodeionization
Applied Water Solutions is an authorized service provider for all major EDI manufactures, i.e. Ionpure, E-Cell, Snowpure. With over combined 30 years of experience contributing to the development and advancement of the technology, we are the only professional, objective specialist in the industry. We offer replacement modules, upgrades and consulting services for all EDI systems as well as complete systems that include our proprietary power supply design, or offer components and documentation for clients to assembly.Reverse Osmosis
Reverse Osmosis is a process used to remove dissolved ions from water. When designing RO systems a complete analysis of RO Chemistry should be done in advance. In RO, pressure forces the water through a semi-permeable membrane element. The membrane will freely pass water but rejects most of the dissolved materials as well as any small particles in the feed water. Thus the permeate water which has passed the membrane contains a relatively low concentration of ions compared to the reject (or concentrate) which contains all of the ions which did not pass the membrane in a reduced quantity of water.Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR)
The Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor or MBBR process is based on the aerobic biofilm principle and utilizes activated sludge and other biofilm systems. On the process, the biofilm carrier elements that are made from polyethylene, that provide a large protected surface area for the biofilm and optimal conditions for the bacteria culture to grow and develop. The biofilm provides a more stable environment for the bacteria to grow, so less space is required compared to other biological systems. MBBRs can be designed for new facilities to remove BOD/COD from wastewater streams or for nitrogen removal. Existing activated sludge plants can be upgraded. This new purification has been used for several plants around the globe with great results.Ultrafiltration
The two types of UF that are offered today are spiral wound, and hollow fiber. Spiral UF has been used as pretreatment to RO, potable water applications, waste water and in the food and beverage to concentrate liquids.
Media Filtration
Media Filtration Technologies: Pretreatment is key in the design of any water treatment system. Below are some standard specifications of media filtration. Correctly sizing your pretreatment and knowing your feed water will minimize maintenance and allow for better operation of all down stream equipment.
