Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) are considered as priority pollutants since some of them are expected to be carcinogens. PAHs are formed during the incomplete burning of coal, oil and gas, or other organic substances. Many industrial sites are contaminated by PAHs.
