Air Modeling

ACS Engineering Group’s air environmental consulting team uses air dispersion modeling to predict off-property concentrations resulting from emissions of air pollution. Equations and algorithms are incorporated into various computer models to calculate atmospheric concentrations of pollutants at specific points. ACS Engineering Group uses EPA’s most current version of Air Dispersion Models and a graphical software package to perform detailed air dispersion modeling for your project. Our approach to modeling consists of collecting all relevant information about the facility to produce the most accurate results, modeling analysis according to state guidelines specific to where the facility is located, and producing a final report for the appropriate environmental agencies and for the client.

Risk Management

We work with your staff to assemble a team of subject matter experts. Together, through complete site walkthrough and round table discussion, we evaluate the potential sources of environmental and compliance risk and identify major impacts to your facilities operations. We rank each risk based on the estimated potential impact to your business. Any risk that has a probability of 30% or more of occurrence, we recommend immediate mitigation. All other risks will be combined into an aggregate probability for your site and ranked. We then help you determine a contingency budget, develop a long term mitigation plan, and train your staff on next steps. The goal is to identify with certainty what to expect. New Source Review for pollution control (PSD/NSR)

New Source Review (NSR) is a pre-construction environmental permitting program intended to prevent air quality from being significantly degraded by the addition of a new facility or modification of an existing one. The NSR program also helps give the local community peace of mind by assuring them that any large new or modified industrial source will be as environmentally clean as possible and that industrial development can occur simultaneously with advanced pollution control.

GHG

The Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gases Rule is a new regulation that requires large sources and suppliers to report greenhouse gas emissions. Greenhouse gases are gases in the atmosphere that are alleged to absorb and emit radiation within the thermal infrared range. Annual reports of the amount of greenhouse gases emitted by a facility must be submitted to the EPA by facilities that meet or exceed the limit of 25,000 metric tons or more per year of GHG emissions and suppliers of fossil fuels, suppliers of industrial greenhouse gases, and manufacturers of vehicles and engines (outside of the light-duty sector) regardless of their emission level.
