Arvia Technology
Based in the UK but operating globally, Arvia designs, manufactures and supplies advanced water treatment equipment for the removal of persistent organic compounds, micropollutants, COD and colour from industrial wastewater. Our technology removes organic compounds using a combination of adsorption and electrochemical oxidation. This combination means that there is less energy used than usual AOP processes. Our patented media attracts the contaminants and then an electric current passes through the media and oxidises the adsorbed pollutants leaving water, hydrogen and carbon dioxide which can be safely vented away into the atmosphere. Unlike some alternative advanced treatment processes, our technology is able to continue to work effectively even when the concentration is low. During the process, because all contaminants are destroyed, the media regenerates itself during the process so there very little maintenance. Just an annual top up of the media, which takes less than an hour.

About us
Arvia is a forward thinking wastewater treatment company with a mission to:
- Deliver economically viable and efficient advanced or tertiary treatment technology to make industrial and municipal wastewater ready to discharge or reuse
- Inspire the human spirit to preserve the environment and actualize wastewater reuse – one project, one application and one industry at a time.
Arvia has developed a breakthrough, low-cost, chemical-free solution for treating low concentrations of complex, hard to treat and in some instances toxic organics in industrial and municipal wastewater. Arvia’s energy-efficient, scalable system treats recalcitrant and non-biodegradable organics in most wastewater streams. The hard to treat (recalcitrant) COD will typically be <500mg/L, although this fraction in some specialized applications can be higher, and can be treated at lower cost than conventional solutions while producing no waste. It’s simple and modular design enables integration into existing treatment plants, targeting specific pain points without disruption to current processes. This means for the first time, water-intensive industries such as food, beverage, pharma and chemical manufacturing can avoid the production bottlenecks, high trucking and disposal costs, water reuse limitations, and difficulties meeting increasingly tougher regulations.
Arvia is also a pioneer in treatment systems that respond to treating problem pollutants such as emerging contaminants and endocrine disrupters, removing colour from wastewater and to help achieve zero-liquid discharge.
Arvia’s lab and offices include capabilities for design, assembly, bench-testing, and wastewater analysis backed by an experienced team with an extensive background in electrochemical engineering, materials engineering, wastewater chemistry and advanced manufacturing.
Leading the Advanced or Tertiary Wastewater Treatment Technology Industry
Arvia leads the tertiary wastewater treatment industry with one of the world’s most advanced oxidation systems that combines adsorption and oxidation in a single unit.
Our goal is to provide wastewater treatment systems optimized for cost effectiveness, reliability, and quality of water for regulatory compliant discharge or reuse. We do that by first discussing your application specific requirements. We then analyze your particular wastewater characteristics and enable technological leadership.
From equipment commissioning and training to service and support, our “total system” approach ensures complete customer satisfaction with long-term performance. Our highly experienced and dedicated team knows that strong partnerships lead to mutual success and growth.
This water quality is achieved through Arvia’s patented technology which combines the advantages of adsorption and advanced oxidation within a single unit. There is
- No by-product formation
- No wastewater or sludge generation
- No chemicals used
