This course is for all individuals who have the responsibility to check respiratory protective equipment (RPE) on a monthly basis, to ensure that they are competent in the use of and can perform inspections on RPE in accordance with manufacturer`s instructions and the actions/outcomes are recorded appropriately.

This RSPH asbestos air monitoring and clearance procedures qualification is approved by the qualifications regulator, Ofqual. This Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) qualification has been designed to provide the theory and practical knowledge and skills required for use of microscopes and fibre counting to WHO rules, air sampling and 4-stage clearance procedures. It has been developed around HSG248 Asbestos: The Analysts Guide for sampling, analysis and clearance procedures.

This qualification is highly recommended for all those responsible for premises and managing the risk from asbestos as the dutyholder, such as property owners, property managers, facilities managers and health & safety managers. This Ofqual regulated RSPH qualification has been designed to support dutyholders, so they understand their duties and responsibilities on managing asbestos in buildings as defined in Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. Candidates can take this qualification at an Asbestos Testing and Consultancy Association venue across the country and throughout the year. Asbestos analysts can now choose to undertake one-day of assessments to gain the RSPH Level 3 Award in Asbestos Bulk Analysis.
