Architectural perforated metals are for ornamental, decorative metal projects. For example, from balcony railings to parking ramp cladding, and exterior building cladding to interior applications. For this purpose, perforating the metal sheets is just the first step of fabricating a complete panel. We have a complete fabricating facility that besides metal perforating, includes laser cutting, forming, saw cutting, machining and extensive welding experience and equipment. Furthermore, we work a lot with stainless steel, aluminum, and weathering steel. Having this experience and capability all on our site, we can fabricate efficiently, manage change orders, produce quality metal fabrication, and meet schedules. Our goal is to WOW our customers.

Astro Metal Craft fabricates complete perforated metal railings for building projects of all types. Our railings are manufactured to meet the aesthetic and structural demands of modern architecture, and custom made to fit the site perfectly. Perforated metal railings, also called guard railing, are for those who want something other than a typical run of the mill railing at the same or lower cost. Balcony railing are often a staple item for construction projects that involve more than ground level building.  Designing and building balcony railings is right in our wheelhouse here at Astro Metal Craft. Whether it’s new construction or a refresh for a new and better lasting railing, Astro is often called on to build for the site.

Astro Metal Craft creates commercial and industrial stainless steel railings, as well as high-end residential work. Our work can be found in outdoor park areas, commuter rail line stations, professional buildings, schools, government, healthcare settings, and private residences.  Stainless steel is prevalent for railings as it is timeless, clean, durable, and attractive. Cable railing, guard railings made with infill panels, and handrails are the most used styles of railings for which stainless steel is used.

At Astro Metal Craft, we produce aluminum railings for commercial, industrial, and high-end residential work. Handrails and guardrails are custom built to match architects’ specifications. Astro’s Project Managers offer guidance in the essentials of architectural handrail and guardrail, such as regulation, aesthetics, functionality, installation and maintenance, and design for fabrication. The 3-D modeling, detailing and shop drawings are done in-house for maximum efficiency and quality.

Radiator covers are fabricated in a variety of styles and punch patterns. For instance, some are matched to existing covers while other architects call for a new design. Some covers are attached to the wall, while others are freestanding, as well. The first step in creating the perforated covers is to field measure followed by drafting and designing for both the covers and the brackets for the situation. Then, after gaining customer approval, the radiator covers are punched and formed. Sometimes spot welded is needed, too. It’s important to know, Astro has all the equipment needed to fabricate completely on-site. Thus, we retain full control over the project without shipping to outside services. Lastly, most all of our radiator covers are made of 304 2B stainless steel with a brushed finish.

For those looking for a unique, robust, and maintenance-free fence, a Perforated Metal Fence could be the perfect choice!   Our first experience in fabricating an aluminum perforated metal fence came in about 2014, when we were awarded the project on an open bid platform.  That one was designed by an architect for a Park ‘n Ride facility. Since that time, we have completed other projects with various designs for perforated fences.  With the success of these projects, this fence is now a part of our product line: StellarCraft. 

Perforated metal screens have a wide variety of use for both architectural and industrial purposes.  Automation using CNC punch machines makes it possible to produce affordable custom perforated metal screens which usually goes into a product.  Here at Astro Metal Craft, we can perforate sheet thickness ranging from 22 gauge to ¼ inch utilizing Trumpf machines. The TruPunch 5000 is top of the line for speed and accuracy.  It can run up to 1600 strokes per minute, has an active die ensuring low-scratch parts, and hold up to 16 punches for shape variety. In addition to the perforating, Astro offers full fabrication services including forming, laser cutting, welding, machining, and finishing to produce a finished product.

Fabricating metal equipment for the water treatment industry is a core competency of Astro Metal Craft. Fabrication of tanks and clarifiers are exactly in our wheelhouse, along with filtration screens, catwalks, and frames that support filtration components.   Our proficiency in stainless and aluminum welding, certified welding capability, and full modern fabrication shop makes us the ideal fabricator for water treatment equipment components..
