Explosionprevention
ATEX - Spark Detection and Spark Extinguishing System
The ATEX spark detection and spark extinguishing system is based on the use of IR and UV sensors. Flying sparks and moving smoulder spots are immediately identified from their radiation, and appropriate counter-measures are taken. Water extinguishing nozzles, extinguishing barriers and shut-off devices are elements of the system. These prevent the ignition source from being carried onward to at-risk parts of the plant, ensuring continued operation.
Detection
ATEX - CO-Detection System
Wherever it is necessary to detect smoulder spots and to take counter-measures, the ACOM detection system provides complete protection. It monitors the processed air if there is a presence of volatile pyrolysis components, then it immediately register these indications of thermal decomposition or of smoulder spot development into the system. The system is efficient enough to even detect a difference of 1 ppm. Self-ignition processes are detected as soon as they are in the early stages if initiation and can be stopped effectively. Drying milk in spray towers is one important application.
ATEX - Dew Point Measurement System
The target of the powdered milk Industry is to get maximum powder yield from liquid milk in the most energy efficient, cost effective and environment friendly manner, while maintaining the taste, nutritional value and solubility of the product. For this to happen, the amount of water removed and the rate at which it is removed plays a vital role. The quality of the finished product is compromised by both, too much moisture as well as too little moisture content. This can be better understood with the sticky curve for milk powder, which is translated to the Mollier diagram of humid air in order to identify the optimal exit temperature and humidity which will lead to the maximal throughput while avoiding being in the sticky region.

Venting
ATEX - Explosion Vent Panel / Bursting Disc
Venting explosions by means of ATEX Explosion Vent Panels / Bursting discs guarantees controlled discharge of the explosion to the outside, whilst at the same time reducing pressure to a non-hazardous level.
ATEX - Explosion Doors
Explosion doors combine the high effectiveness of bursting discs with the fully automatic closure of the heavy explosion door. When the trigger pressure is reached, the spring-loaded unit is triggered and the cover turns over. An air cushion absorbs most of the impact energy. The cover springs back into the initial position, blocking the oxygen supply. A fire can therefore not get going in the con-tainer.
EasyQuench - Flameless Venting Control System
The EasyQuench AQ controls the explosion through a specially constructed filter mat, lowering the pressure to an accurately calculated level, and cools the flame gases. At the same time it prevents dust particles from escaping. These are caught in the integrated dust filter. The EasyQuench AQ has particular advantages at locations where access is difficult.
Suppression
ATEX - Suppressor/Hot Water
A big advantage is the use of water that is kept hot in the suppression bottles. If triggered, your products only come into contact with water. This technology is therefore most suitable for use in the food production oriented industry, particularly for drying milk in spray towers. The fast activation or opening of the suppression bottle is achieved through gas generators and a special, reusable leaf valve. This can easily be exchanged after triggering. The entire system is therefore fully ready for operation again in a very short time, and your plant can soon start operating again. EU certificate pending.
ATEX - Dynamic Pressure Sensor
The PXD dynamic pressure sensor reliably registers the rise in pressure in the event of an explosion. Its unique construction is suitable for robust applications as well as for highly sensitive, hygienic applications. Based on a technology that has been used a million times in the automobile sector, the sensor ensures continuous self-monitoring of your plant. The detection system registers every change, and passes it on to the control unit.
Explosion Isolation System
ATEX - Quick Closing Valve
The quick closing valve is part of an active explosion isolation system. In the event of ignition, it is activated by solenoid valves. Air flows out of a compressed air reservoir into the drive cylinder, closing the slide valve within milliseconds. Both the flames and the spread of pressure are effectively stopped. After having been triggered, the slide valve can be reactivated without needing a repair, and because of its non-destructive operation it can be validated at any time.
