This course will be offered as a combined Level I and II course with topics relevant to Water Treatment. It will provide operators with the basic knowledge of water treatment processes focusing on the practical aspects of plant operations.
I am President/CEO for Aqua Data Atlantic and licensee for Eastern Quebec and Atlantic Canada since 1997. I co-ordinate and supervise all projects with regards to modeling, flushing, hydrant and valve inspection programs, etc... I have been a member of ACWWA, ABEA & MPWWA for many years and have served as a board member for ACWWA and ABEA. I am also the President / CEO of Scotia Tech Fluid Services, the Sensus Water Meter distributor for sales and service for Atlantic Canada since 1992.
This class will educate the attendee on the basics of Automatic Control Valves. Ever wonder how that valve does its magic? The class will show how the valve operates, how to take key components apart for preventative maintenance as well as troubleshooting, as well as learning the keys to ensure your Pressure Reducing Valve (as well as other Control Valves) work reliably for a long time. Additionally, we willguide the attendees on Valve Sizing, Preventative Maintenance (what and when) as well as how managing your system’s pressure can save money and line breaks.

The intermediate portion will expand on the basic topics by providing an advanced appreciation of water distribution practices and focuses on the practical aspects of construction, operation and maintenance of water distribution. It will cover a variety of practical applications for Atlantic Canada and course is recommended for operations staff who maintain Level I and II systems.
