Aids for Dissolved Oxygen Measurement
Calitech - Tonometer
Aurical Company provides a novel Tonometer, unique in that it is completely transparent and has no moving parts. The Tonometer permits easy and controlled saturation of fresh water or salt water with gasses, including air. The electric pump causes the ambient air to bubble up through the water in the vessel. The gas diffusion plate in the bottom of the vessel breaks up the flow into bubbles of the correct size to assure proper equilibration. As an additional feature, other gas mixtures may be substituted for ambient air. Selecting different concentrations of gas in the mixture allow preparation known standards of varying values.
Calitech - Oxygen Probe Conditioner
The Oxygen Probe Conditioner is an electrical device designed to bring polarographic oxygen probes to their true zero state. The Oxygen Probe Conditioner applies the required bias voltage to the connected probe. While connected, the probe is immersed in Calitech Zero Oxygen Standard. Storing probes connected and immersed this way assure instantaneous readiness for testing. The traditional conditioning period necessary for use is eliminated. The Oxygen Probe Conditioner is battery-powered. Cat. No. 2-530, is used in bench-top, field operations, and at elevated temperature (150°C) and pressure (30 psi) when autoclaving is necessary.
Calitech - Zero Oxygen Standard in Single-Use Pouches
A solution of ascorbate and sulfite formulated with anti-microbial. This solution provides a zero standard for proper and accurate calibration. Calibration with Calitech Zero-Oxygen Standard eliminates the errors from electrical (disconnect) zero calibration which arise from internal offsets in the electrode. Because the solution is fresh each time, the problems with homemade solution stability are eliminated.
Aids for pH Measurement
Aurical Company - Model 0.5 LTR - Electrode Storage Buffer
A pH 4.00 buffer with sufficient potassium chloride to make it 3 molar in potassium chloride. This prevents filling solution ions from diffusing out of the electrode. The result of this storage mode is longer electrode life and more rapid response, preventing sluggish electrodes. Separate silver/silver chloride reference electrodes are also safeguarded with this solution.
Aurical Company - Model 500 mL - Enzyme / Hydrochloric Acid Electrode Cleaner
A solution of proteolytic enzymes and 0.1 Normal Hydrochloric Acid. Recommended for removing protein and mineral deposits from glass pH and combination pH electrodes.
Support Products
Aurical Company - Model 0.015 LTR - Pourite Anti-Bubble Additive for Agar and Gel Media
Pourite is an anti-bubble additive which prevents bubble formation in agar, or other gel media such as electrophoresis gels.
Traditional Calibration Standards
Traditional Conductivity Calibrating Standards
Potassium Chloride Formulations Unit of Measure “µs/cm” microSiemens per centimeter. Conductivity Calibrating Standards following are those provided from stock. Potassium chloride standards are the traditional standards for conductimeter calibration. Potassium chloride is preferred because it is readily available in pure form, highly ionized in water; and the ions are about the same size and weight with similar mobility.
Conductivity Calibrating Standards in Single Use Pouches
Each Pouch is a Fresh Container. Potassium Chloride Formulations Unit of Measure “µs/cm” microSiemens per centimeter. Conductivity Calibrating Standards in pouches are provided for convenient field or remote calibration. They also provide more accuracy than bottled standards because they are not repeatedly exposed to air. Potassium chloride standards are the traditional standards for conductivity calibration. Potassium chloride is preferred because it is readily available in pure form, highly ionized in water; and the ions are about the same size and weight with similar mobility.
Salinity Standards
Salinity (sodium chloride) Formulations “ppm” parts per million (milligram Sodium per kilogram solution). Salinity standards are formulated from sodium chloride to approximate ocean and brackish water, brine, etc., and are used in process water control and oceanography and limnology. There is often confusion about measuring salinity. Salinity is measured by conductivity with a meter calibrated with concentration standards (ppm) or parts per million, approximately equal to milligrams per liter. For example: 100 ppm Salinity Standard is 100 milligrams of sodium chloride per liter of standard. Custom standards, at other levels. are available on request, simply let us know what you need. Accuracy as referenced to NIST Standard Reference Materials or NIST Standard Mass is ±1.0% @25°C. Traceability certificates available on request at no additional cost.
Model ORP - Oxidation/Reduction Standards
Oxidation/Reduction Potential, Iron Salt Formulations: Aurical Company provides the Calitech ORP-Oxidation/Reduction Standards. These aqueous standards are prepared from ferric/ferrous salts to permit stable and ready-to-use calibration solutions. Messy hydroquinone/buffer mixtures are eliminated. Values of 100, 240, 300, 465 and 600 mill volts are available from stock packaged in our atmosphere impervious stand-up pouches. Each package carries a specific lot number with traceability records and expiration date. The new spout design permits ready instrument use. Each standard may be used until container is empty because the proprietary stand-up pouch, equipped with a one-way valve, protects against atmospheric contamination and assures accuracy with each use. The Calitech standard solutions are ideal for instrument and test method calibration and validation. When the standard is dispensed, the pouch collapses around the contents preventing air contamination.
