The benefits of air scour assisted backwash are well documented and increasingly necessary to optimize filter performance.  The intent of any air scour system is to increase the efficiency of the backwash cycle and improve filter performance.  To maximize filter performance, depth filtration is essential and to sustain a depth filtration process, depth cleaning is required.

AWI Phoenix Backwash Troughs are designed, built and installed for municipal and industrial water treatment facilities.  Fabricated from Stainless Steel or molded from fiberglass reinforced plastic, the Phoenix Backwash Trough has a design that can be adapted and installed into all filter configurations.  Each trough is equipped with adjustable weir plates to provide even flow distribution into the trough during collection of the backwash water after media cleaning.

AWI designs, builds and installs complete, process-specific granular media filtration systems for municipal and industrial applications.  Types of systems include: Open Top Gravity Filtration Systems, Vertical Pressure Filtration Systems, Horizontal Pressure Filtration Systems.
