Cleaning and surface preparation prior to painting is of critical importance in the automotive industry. Automated CO₂ cleaning is changing the way automotive manufacturers pre-treat and prepare surfaces. The combination of CO₂ cleaning with robotic applicators is quickly becoming the standard in the industry for painting and coating parts. CO₂ spray cleaning is a waterless, residue-free solution designed as a replacement for traditional aqueous and solvent based cleaning operations. CO₂ cleaning uses either solid or liquid phase carbon dioxide to clean, remove particulate matter, de-oil, and degrease, resulting in clean parts that do not require a drying step. Robotic CO₂ spray cleaning systems provide cost effective, no-touch cleaning technology that can be easily integrated into numerous types of existing production lines with a fraction of the footprint of other cleaning methods.
