Solar energy is a vast and inexhaustible resource and it represents a clean alternative to fossil fuels that currently pollute our air and water and contribute to global warming. This technology has been in use for over 30 years in space and for nearly as long down here on earth.

The solar systems contain photovoltaic panels that generate electric power by using solar cells to convert energy from the sun into electricity.

Solar cells are made of the same kind of semiconductor materials, such as Silicon, used in the microelectronics industry.  For solar cells, a thin semiconductor wafer is specially treated to form an electric field, positive on one side and negative on the other.When light energy strikes the solar cell, electrical conductors which are attached to the positive and negative sides, form an electrical circuit. The electrons can be captured in the form of an electric DC current - That is, electricity.

A number of solar cells connected to each other and mounted in a support structure or frame is called a photovoltaic module.The module is encapsulated with tempered glass on the front surface and with a protective and waterproof material on the back surface .The edges are sealed for weatherproofing, and there is an aluminum frame holding everything together in a mountable unit. In the back of the module there is a junction box, or wire leads, providing electrical connections.

The inverters are devices that connect to the modules and convertthe low DC voltage into AC voltage(that we use in our homes)and feeds into the electric grid.Inverters differ in their output wave format, output power and installation type. We are using two kinds of Inverter: Solar Edge, SMA and Fronius.

BD Solar installs two types of systems:

  • Grid connected systems - electric systems that are installed on homes and businesses where the electricity grid is available.This type of system has a tie in with the Israel Electric Corp.(IEC)allowing excess power that is produced from the sun during the day to be sold back to the IEC.
  • Stand-alone PV systems:are usually installed in remote areas, where there is no main grid or it is difficult or even impossible to use any other source of power supply. In many stand-alone PV systems, batteries are used for energy storage.

Natural sunlight is sufficient to produce electricity from photovoltaic panels and direct sunlight produces optimal results. The stronger and more direct the sunlight, the more current is produced.Israel is blessed with strong solar irradiation and a substantial number of sunny days.These parameters provide a natural infrastructure for clean electricity production.

All devices and components used by BD Solar in its various systems are made in Germany and are in compliance with all international standards and are fully field tested under extreme weather conditions.

The installation process

BD Solar systems Ltd will serve as your one-stop-shop with a comprehensive list of services including:

  • Full engineering design
  • Calculations of projected production
  • Assistance with permits (obtainable from the electricity company)
  • Supply of all required components
  • A monitoring system
  • Turnkey installation
  • Support and maintenance

First Step-Site Survey includes measure the roof orientation, angle of inclination, surface area and building characteristics.

Second Step- System design and planning: optimization between the available funds and site characteristics. Our professionals engineers will perform an electrical design of your system and produce architectural plans of your system for your approval. At this stage the Electric Company will review and accept our proposed designs

Third step-we will assist you in receiving municipality authorization.Once the relevant approvals, licenses and permits have been given, we will inform you and schedule the delivery and installation of your system.
Fourth step- installation:our team of expert installers will work to set up your system. This is a quick process and is expected to take less than 2 weeks(depend on your system size).
Fifth Step-Connection to the grid -once our installation is complete, the Electric Company will perform a final safety check on your system, to ensure it is installed perfectly, and hazards free.
The sixth and final Step- Due to the high credibility of the systems it requires minimal maintenance and the performance of PV systems is monitored continuously using communication equipment, supplied (upon your order) with the system.
