The vapor intrusion pathway of organic contaminants may be a significant exposure mechanism in areas where residential, commercial, industrial or public buildings are present over or adjacent to contaminated soils and/or groundwater. Beacon Environmental Services` applied technologies identify vapor intrusion pathways and monitor the indoor air of such buildings for potential contamination.

Beacon Environmental Services offers an accurate and cost effective approach to identifying and monitoring vapor migration pathways of volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds (VOCs and SVOCs).

Beacon Environmental can target a broad range of compounds using sorbent filled stainless steel tubes to passively collect VOCs and SVOCs in soil vapor or indoor air following established ASTM methods, as well as other international protocols. Passive diffusion samplers do not require pumps or electricity and can be used to collect samples over a brief period of time (e.g., one hour) to weeks (e.g., 14 to 30 days), thereby providing a time-integrated concentration in units of ug/m3 or ppbv.
