Ambient Meteorological - Temperature

Belfort - Air Temperature Sensor

The Model 060A-2 is designed for general-purpose ambient air temperature measurement. Met One Instruments’ temperature sensors are precision, extended-range thermistor devices that accurately measures ambient air temperature in field settings. This precise performance is a benefit of the sensors’ high resistance sensitivity, which eliminates problems associated with line lead length, noisy environments, and poor connections.

AIO - All in One Weather Sensor

The AIO 2 All in One Weather Sensor (P/N 102888) is the next-generation weather instrument that measures temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, wind direction, and barometric pressure in a single compact, rugged unit.

Ambient Meteorological - Wind

Belfort - Wind Speed Sensor

The 010C Wind Speed Sensor provides accurate and detailed information on horizontal wind speed. The lightweight three-cup anemometer is used in virtually all applications where fast response and low starting threshold are of paramount importance. Both wind speed and wind direction sensors are used in environments ranging from Antarctic cold to arid desert. The 01OC, 010C-1 and 020C instruments meet USEPA and NRC specifications for critical measurement applications.

Belfort - Wind Speed Sensor

The 014A Wind Seed Sensor and 024A Wind Direction Sensor are accurate, durable and economical instruments, suitable for a wide range of wind study applications. They are designed for long term unattended operation in most environments. The sensors use a quick-connect sensor cable which may extend hundreds of feet without affecting measurement performance.

Aviation Weather

Belfort - Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS)

The initial focus for the AWOS™ product is the aviation market – particularly venues that are not currently supported by costly government designed weather systems such as small public-use airports, heliports, seaplane bases, crop duster operations and private landing strips. Within these applications, AWOS™ provides high quality, up-to-the-minute weather conditions to ground personnel and pilots through several media options resulting in enhanced aircraft/light safety and operational performance. Belfort has recently introduced significant enhancements to its AWOS™ product such that real time, local weather information can be received automatically over standard UNICOM frequencies, telephone, the Internet, or on its well established handheld device. The Automated Weather System is comprised of the following upgrades to the original AWOS offering:

Belfort - Cloud Ceilometer

The 80171 Cloud Ceilometer is a stand-alone instrument designed for fixed and mobile installations. It detects clouds using the LIDAR principle with a low power diode laser that is eye safe. This ceilometer has a detection range up to 25,000 feet and is very accurate. The 80171 is highly reliable, with demonstrated mean-time-between-failures of over 150,000 hours. The main advantages of the 80171 are its size, weight, power requirement, and modern design. The small size and weight make the 80171 ideal for mobile use and facilitates easy maintenance by one person. The ceilometer can be carried in one hand and can operate from a 12 VDC battery or solar supply, or from AC mains power. The primary advantage of the 80171 is its modem electronic design, which reduces the number of replaceable subassemblies to two items and allows complete field replacement without adjustments or calibration.

Hydrology/Agriculture

Belfort - Weather Precipitation Gauge

The AEPG Rain Gauge collects precipitation though a standard 8 inch (203.2mm) NWS orifice. Combining mechanical design with no moving parts, and the latest in electronic sensor technology, the AEPG series of sensors makes it possible to measure precipitation in all weather conditions without human intervention and costly maintenance. The All Environment Precipitation Gauge collects precipitation though a standard 8 inch (203.2mm) NWS orifice. Precipitation falls into a bucket which is supported by three precision sensors that weigh the precipitation amount independently and transmits the weight data to a central processing unit that compares each set of data and calculates the amount of precipitation. It converts this measurement into RS-232 format output for digital transmission to a recording device of customers selection. These pulses are transmitted as binary digital signals or as contact closures of a reed relay device.

Universal Rain Gauge

The Universal recording & transmitting precipitation gauge converts the weight of collected precipitation into the equivalent depth of accumulated water in conventional units of inches or millimeters.

WxPak - Ultrasonic Weather Station

The Belfort Ultrasonic WxPak weather station meets a growing need for real time, site-specific weather information. The unit provides accurate data when monitoring weather conditions on-site or in remote locations.

Present Weather Sensor

The Belfort Model 6550 VisWx Present Weather Sensor is designed to monitor visibility conditions over a range of 20ft-50miles (6m-80km), as well as report weather conditions in accordance with World Meteorological Organization Codes (WMO), required for automatic synop messages.
