Manhole biofilters are used more and more for elimination of odors from sewerage systems. The odourous compounds were eliminated by microorganism before they could get into the atmosphere. So the manhole biofilter of the series MBF is the perfect solution for eliminating odors around any manhole.

Our Modular Container Biofilter Systems consist of one to four double walled filter containers to treat airflow rates in a range of 300 m3/h to 20.000 m3/h. The outer wall is made of steel with a treated and painted outer surface. The inner surfaces are coated with 4 mm heavy-duty polyethylene. For higher air flow rates we offer special tanks as biofilter containers. The plants of the series MCBF are of a rugged design and for an automatic operation mainly free of maintenance.

The Bioteg Circular Stand-Alone Biofilter with its compact design and long service life can be applied to solve a variety of different odor problems. Among our customers for the SRBF-Series are waste water treatment plants (WWTP), landfills and sewage storage systems as well as the food and chemical industry. They are designed to treat airstreams from 20 to 500 m3/h. To adapt to higher airstreams (of up to 2,000 m3/h) our Circular Stand-Alone Biofilters can be run in a two to four filter network.

The Vent Pipe Biofilters have been specially designed to reduce odors from various vent pipes as for example from pump stations. They should be used for small airflow rates where space or costs do not allow the use of a Stand-Alone Biofilter.

The biofilter cartridges of the series BFP have been specially designed and optimized for the odor reduction of shaft covers with stainless steel pipes. They are a rather cheap option for eliminating odours. The life time of these biofilters depends on the degree of contamination in the waste air and the operating conditions of the biofilter. It varies between 3 and 7 years. After this time the filter material can be composted and the biofilter be filled again. As an alternative the cartridges could also be filled with activated carbon.

The biofilters of the series EBF have been specially designed and optimized for a use in waste water treatment plants and sewerage systems. They have proven their worth since a long time. The Drop-In Biofilter is mainly used as an inexpensive passive biofilter (displacing method), and is readily upgradable to an active biofilter at any time by the addition of a ventilator. A controlled surface irrigation system is optional. A prerequisite for installation is a supporting ring in the cover, with diameter D1 and capable of supporting the given weight. Depending on the environmental conditions, the biofilter material is an easy and inexpensive process. The used biofilter material can then be readily composted.

The biofilters of the series EKBF which consist of a stainless steel cladding with integrated separately removable and refillable biofilter cartridge have been designed and optimized specially as a complete system for odor reduction of waste water chambers.

The biofilters of the series DRBF have been specially designed for the odour elimination and corrosion reduction in roof drain pipes. Especially where rain water and waste water are lead to the same dewatering pipes there are often problems with odour and corrosion.

The biofilters of the series DEBF have been specially designed to reduce sewage odors emitting from force main air release valves. The filter is mounted above or below the ground to the connecting piece of a force main ventilation pipe. They can be run as inexpensive passive biofilters with a vent stack or can be equipped with a ventilator.The Bioteg Force Main Biofilters can be networked to adapt to greater airflow rates.

The odor flap of the GVK series is used to restrain annoying odors of manholes of the diameter DN 600, DN 625 resp. DN 800. It is applied where the use of manhole biofilters is impossible because of lack of space. Furthermore the insertion of the odor flaps of the GVK series is a very cheap and effective solution for the retention of odors from the sewer system. Entering water from the surface follows the hopper to a central drain pipe which has a flap with a counterweight at the bottom. This flap opens automatically in case of water standing in the pipe and so leads the drain water into the sewer system below. The ventilation of the sewer systems keeps working if the odor flaps are used in combination with manhole biofilters along the sewer system.
